In my research, the pure ZnO has a high resistivity. But, when Gd was added, the resistivity decreased along with the increase of Gd content. Thus, this means that with the addition of Gd in ZnO, the conductivity increase?
Yes, I think you are correct. But in-order to establish the fact you have to confirm from other factors. First of all, you have to indicate clearly the parameters you had taken in order to find the resistivity. Please find out/ calculate other parameters like capacitance, dielectric loss, impedance, cole-cole plot, etc., etc. to conclude about the increase in conductivity. You can refer to mu papers.
Dear Nurul Fadzilah, what is your content range, however It is normal that the resistivity decreases with increase of Gd content. There is many works are used Gd as a doping and showed the decreasing in resistivity as Gd increased, but some of them are found that at high Gd content (8%) the resistivity increased, so I suggest trying another parameter such as variation annealing temperature.
Dear Ms Fatema, the content is around 4-10%. I've already tried the annealing temperature parameter. So far, based on calculation, the conductivity increase when Gd increased. However, I'd another problem, which is the value of resistivity is so much higher, which is 4.8E6. So many parameters I've tried, but still got the same value. Does the value are acceptable for resistivity? I don't find any similar value for previous papers
Yes, the conductivity must be increased when Gd increased. The value of resistivity which is 4.8x106 is acceptable value. I measured the resistivity many times for other Semiconductor and I found it in this range.
