Voices on Science 2.0, the end of the big publishers era, and alternate ways of promoting research are getting louder and louder. We certainly entered a transition phase, in which scientists continue publishing in classical outlets, but increasingly use ResearchGate, LinkedIn and more specialized community platforms in order to discuss their most recent thoughts and approaches. Also I found many of my past discussions highly relevant for my field and would like to include at least the findings on upcoming publications. But what might be the best way of incorporating those, also acknowledging the contributors? Would you refer to a discussion thread on ResearchGate, Linkedin etc. in your next publication?
