Will the upcoming UN COP27 Climate Summit finally see groundbreaking and meaningful declarations from individual countries on significantly accelerating the processes of carrying out a pro-environmental and pro-climate transformation of the economy?

The 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference, more commonly referred to as COP27, will be the 27th UN climate change conference to be held from 6 to 18 November 2022 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. The process of global warming is progressing faster than was thought until recently. Therefore, the processes of carrying out a pro-environmental and pro-climate transformation of the classic growth brown linear economy of excess to a sustainable green zero-carbon growth and circular economy, including the pro-climate transformation of the energy sector, should proceed faster than before. The current energy crisis and the growing risk of an escalation of the climate crisis in the future, the occurrence of a global climate catastrophe already at the end of this 21st century, is rapidly growing and increases the pressure to accelerate the processes of carrying out a pro-environmental and pro-climate transformation of the economy, including above all the energy sector, zero-emission transport, the development of electromobility, the development of zero-emission and zero-energy construction, the cessation of deforestation of forests, the development of sustainable organic agriculture, etc.

In view of the above, I address the following research question to the esteemed community of researchers and scientists:

Will the forthcoming UN Climate Summit COP27 finally see groundbreaking and meaningful declarations from individual countries on the issue of significantly accelerating the processes of carrying out a pro-environmental and pro-climate transformation of the economy?
