Despite of all great discoveries and technological advancement of humanity it seams that our Blue Planet has become subject to enormous pollution of and lot of Endangered Species are continuously extinct. Will the Technological Advancements and Intellectual Capital of Mankind be enough to preserve our Blue Planet Earth intact, beautiful and live giving for future generations?
Technology and intellect are certainly sufficient, but political willingness to apply them is what is lacking.
Thank you George. Indeed, the proper political decisions are essential. After all, it is everybody's children and their children who will inherit the our Blue Planet Earth as a new home to live on.
This depends on technological developments used in the survival of our planet blue and without negative effects on it really a beautiful and scientific question
I agree - the technology and intellect is sufficient - but I see it as requiring a global response. Political willingness to work together. Could that ever happen?
Dear Mary, Malik and George, agree with you all. I do believe that a global agreement and united response is very important. There are already many very valuable and positive initiatives taken by many government and non-government organizations all over the world. Given the vast geography, the global agreements and policies would be support allocation and distribution of proper technology and resources where the pollution level is critical.
Technology and intellect is necessary but they are not enough. Human values are also necessary to be involved. Synthesis thinking is also requested. Humnaities are also components of our "thinking-machine". If the truth is missing in new concepts, the thinking machine does not work. So I think wide range of intellectual and human components are also requested.
Thank you all, indeed the research subject is quite open and one may look at it from many different perspectives. There are examples where some believe that technology may not always contribute to the betterment of mankind. Naturally, this may sound quite skeptical, but there might be some degree of justification. The ideal case is the proper application of technology for the benefit of all mankind.
