I am trying to determine if there are still intact cells within dried, archived fish scales so that I can extract DNA. Will I be able to use an H&E stain to determine this and if so, how would I approach this? Thank you
I should say that for extracting DNA you can work on your samples whenever you want even with dried ones, but for H&E procedure it can be different as you must use fresh tissues for consideration of H&E protocol correctly.
For scales because of their died nature you need to make sure.
