Like most new technology, AI has the potential to make the world a better place--or a worse place. See our book "Big data and urban sustainability: a human-centered perspective" (Wang and Moriarty, Springer, 2018) for possible benefits in urban energy, transport and healthcare. In traffic control, AI could improve traffic flow--but while this may reduce fuel use for a given trip, it will probably increase fuel use, emissions and GHGs system wide by inducing shift from more environmentally friendly modes and increasing travel km overall.
I think that's the only hope as we are surviving and motivate, encourage our-self, that tomorrow world will be a better place. I think we achieved in that if you take a look the world you were living 1 decade before is much different in many way.
I don't think so. I believe with all the technologies invented and yet to be invented, there is a limit to which humans can be replaced. What can improve the world is 'human innovation' which no machine can achieve. Machines or technology can only achieve optimum results when man which is behind it is a right-thinking person.
