African journal of gastroenterology and hepatology is free (no any article publication charges), the submitted material is subjected to revision via a software program for plagiarism, an open access journal, an eminent group of editorial board members, a strong peer review process with at least 3 peer reviewers per article.
What about the impact factor? I even do not find the journal in Google.
This is definitely not a good journal. All editors, including associate editors, are from just one university in Egypt.
This is ridiculous.
this is a newly formed journal with no impact or released first issue yet. It was constructed by eminent gastroenterologists and professors of Zagazig university, we welcome the joining of other colleagues from different areas of the world.
we had great work to publish and tried for months or years to publish in the international specialized journals but I feel that they look to the country, the place, and many other bias ..away from scientific research, alot of hidden rules judge publishing... we will avoid this nontransparent behavior and make all the effort to publish only valuable research ...

I believe, Christian Meyer, that talking about anything health related is beneficial to Medicine. Especially if an entire team is talking about something together, no matter their localization or what country or institution they represent, they are working to understand disease and the function of the human body. Hoorah!

This is not true and close to complete nonsense. Many papers have been published from Egypt in renowned international journals. What counts is the quality of a paper, not the country or any other reasons. I have, as an editor, published many papers from Egypt. Maybe you wish to be more cautious with what you say in a public forum.
As I can retrieve from PubMed you have published successfully in international peer-reviewed journals.
Public forums are meant to be filled by voices like mine. Maybe... I wish there was another forum where it was appropriate that I could be less cautious with my diction; what do you wish for today Christian G Meyer?
