I have a question about the Chemical formula (Composition or pattern phases). Why we say CuZnSnS but we cannot say ZnCuSnS, CuGaS but not GaCuS and PbSnS not SnPbS. It depends on periodic table or oxidation state or alphabet names???
I think it depends on the polarity of each ion in the compound. The more electro-positive ion (cation) should be in the positive left side of the formula and the more electro-negative ion (anion) in the right side. So, Cu is more electro-positive than Zn,Sn,S, it should be first left and the S is the most electro-onegative ion should be in the right of the formula.
