when we measure cytokines of infected cells we need to include heat kill. but why we do that. also both antibiotics killing bacteria and heat kill bacteria lead to release cytokines why?
Difference between heat kill bacteria and antibiotic killing bacteria is that the heat killing is physical phenomenon where as use of antibiotics is a chemical phenomenon.Antibiotics may change physiological functions of the cells or enzymes. So, it stops the growth of organisms.
Well... I am wondering about the relevance of the question. One main difference in outcome would be that disinfection using heat doesn't induce antimicrobial resistance. On the other hand there exist bacteria in the environment which thrive at very high temperatures, well in excess of 100 degr. C.
