The origin of SU(3) (and SU(2)) is accidental, and is due to smalness of masses of light quarks, u, d and s. Color SU(3) symmetry carries more fundamental character since it describes local gauge theory with gauge bosons - gluons

I think that this was not remarked deeply enough; there is a clear construction showing 3 double families u & d, c & s, b & t and not more ( no 4th one) and what you have to do: simply fill in the 6 Quarks to the gravity centre cross points by remarking if the Charge is 2/3 or -1/3. Of course, a stereo picture is absolutely necessary.
Afterwards you can to the same picture get in the dates of the 17 fundamental particles. (e.g. the Higgs as centre point (0,0,0) .
By the way I find it bad that no picture exists about the 61 particles but only a big Mathe formula.
