I got two bands for emssion spectra of organic compound functionalised with donor and acceptor. Normally one broad is observed in emssion spectra due lowest excited singlet state.
Two emission bands in the emission spectrum of organic compound functionalised with donor and acceptor moieties may be due to locally excited state and charge transfer state which indicate the presence of charge transfer transitions in the compound. However, it depends on the types of moieties present in the compound and the solvent medium used to measure the emission spectrum. In this aspect, the following attached paper can be helpful.
The possibilities of the emission spectra due to the Lowest Singlet (S), The lowest triplet (T) and the first excited singlet (S*). It depends on the functional group or molecule.
