I am using 3-electrode system with GC working , Pt counter and Ag/AgCl as a reference electrode... i am facing trouble to find the maximum potential of cv of analyte ... there is variation with same repeatability.
Are you using a pulse program or single potential? A single potential will result in the electrode becoming contaminated. A pulse program will keep it clean.
Sir Michael i am using potential range from -0.2 to 1 volt ... and the observed maximum current peak noted at 5.307 uA and the vs maximum potential observed to be 697.5mv at this peak.. but when i again repeat the experiment there happen some variation in the maxmimum potential i.e 640 mv etc...
To start I agree with Kanyong. It may also be possible that your stripping potential is not high enough. In that case the organic may stick to the electrode.
If there is no precision in between measurements, it is probably due to a different surface between scans. You can activate the electrode in between by applying a high (or low or scanning between both) in between measurements.
