As seen the attached figures, the valve of direct injection compression ignition (DICI) engines, the valves are parallel to the piston top. Howerer, for direct injection spark ignition (DISI) engines, the valves are not parallel to the piston top.
In my opinion, tilted valve in DISI engines are designed for larger valve areas, and are beneficial to flame propagation.
Anyone know the reason for the difference or any comments?
