Since both are used for finding the difference in mean.....and the difference is t test is used for finding difference between two means and ANOVA is for more than 2 means.....In that case why can't we use ANOVA itself for both the cases?

You can use ANOVA for comparing 2 means. It downgrades to t-test. They are the same thing and produce the same results.

Consistent with what Mehmet points out, you can even use a two-way ANOVA with "rep" as a factor to replace a paired t test.
