According to Chaturvedi, V., et al. (2015). and Ham, R. G., et al. (1988). and other low serum free media products, dexamethasone seems essential for serum free media.

But, canonical role of dexamethasone is catabolic hormone(glucocorticoid) which bounds to glucocorticoid receptor(GR) and induce skeletal muscle athophy(myopathy).

I want to know what it should be included as serum free media contents and how it acts.
