We have seen that the virus is more contagious and is spreading more rapidly as compared to the previous year. It has been shown to infect the complete family with much more ease and less time as seen previously.

The second wave of COVID-19 is more dangerous because people are increasingly fed up with complying with social distancing. The economy is suffering from repeated lockdowns and the resources for healthcare are dwindling. New strains are emerging and the vaccines developed against the original strain are not fully effective against these. This looks like we are heading for the perfect storm...
Emergence of new variants which are much more contagious and highly transmissible.
Each subsequent wave of the SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) coronavirus pandemic is caused by a mutant variant of the Coronavirus, which is usually several times more infectious than the previous variant of this virus. However, it is usually only more infectious but not more pathogenic. Therefore, despite the use of specific instruments and anti-pandemic safety recommendations, the number of new infections may increase rapidly. However, this is usually only a potentially larger scale of increase in infections without a significant increase in pathogenicity, i.e. the scale of increase in severely ill people with Covid-19 disease and deaths is much smaller than the scale of increase in new infections. Therefore, each successive wave of the pandemic causes less and less negative effects of the health crisis, less and less impact on the daily functioning of people, the economy, and the functioning of companies and institutions. An important factor in this declining, negative impact on the health care system and the economy of each subsequent wave of the pandemic is also the efficiently carried out vaccination of citizens against the Coronavirus.
