Why is it better to publish articles in English than in other languages? Perhaps electronic translators should not facilitate the expansion of knowledge? What do you think? What language is best to publish?

Although English is not the most used language world-wide (Spanish and Chinese seem to be far ahead of it), it is a acknowledged as the lingua franca correlated with science, technology, and publishing. As a language of publishing, English is not a matter of opinion but a matter of fact. This, however, does not mean that people do not publish in Arabic, Chinese, German, Spanish, etc. But these languages have a narrower circulation, since not all people are learning them. People associate English with wide circulation and dissemination knowledge.
Why not use French, German or Spanish? Is this perhaps an example of an Americanization of all social aspects?
