When two centrifugal pumps are connected in series, the pressure of the fluid becomes double than that of single stage. What science is involved in it?
Although both pumps are being operated on same speed and having same size. What factor does increase the pressure of fluid in the second stage?

The answer comes from the work done on the system (here system is fluid). If we apply simple Bernoulli equation between the inlet and outlet of each pump keeping the same discharge, the work done by the pump on the fluid will lead to increase in pressure.

In we connect the pump discharge of one pump to the suction of the other the first thing that we need to know is than the same mass flow will trough both pump. The energy level or fluid head (in meters) at discharge of the first pump will be present at the inlet of the second pump, then the head increase at the second pump is added to the head increase of the first.
@Ruben I agree with your point. But I have the query that we have same pump at first stage, 1st stage pump let's say can develop pressure from 10 psi to 100 psi. Then how can second stage pump increase pressure above this one although it's running with the same speed and having same size.
Ok, but think about the energy you are supplying yo the fluid on the second pump. That energy is deliveried to the fluid which already has gained energy at the first pump, then the size and RPM are not important.
