I read your article (a) entitled
"A general scaling law reveals why the largest animals are not the fastest",
appeared in Nature Ecology & Evolution 1(8)
and your preprint (b) entitled
"Universal scaling of maximum speed with body mass - Why the largest animals are not the fastest".
In the preprint (b) you emphasize that 0.51 < i < 1.21 on line 105.
In article (a), you indicated 0.75 < d < 0.94 two lines bellow Eq.(3). You wrote 0.76 < g< 1.27 bellow Eq.(4). You defined i = d - 1 + g bellow Eq.(5).
Then, the parameter i must be 0.51 < i < 1.21. This coincides with the result given in article (b).
But, at 16 lines bellow Fig.2, you showed i = -0.72, -0.6 or -0.56, without any discussion. These are contradiction!
Could you explain the reason why i is negative?
