Absorption of water will finally arrive to saturation, and therefore no additional weight loss will be seen after some time. On the contrary, hydrolysis of agrowastes and/or consumption by microorganisms will produce weight loss, as part of the composite material will be slowly removed.

What is the polyester you are using? Aliphatic polyesters can also be slowly hydrolyzed.
