Awarding National awards in all respective countries in different disciplines is a common feature to promote growth of the individuals/ growth of the organization and development of the country.

Yes, it is expected but unfortunately the facts are entirely different. I may kindly be permitted to say that the reply is unethical, unscientific and promoter of scientific misconducts without any detailed investigation by independent body in view of the serious concern expressed therein. Such scientific misconducts, if noticed, should never be encouraged and are highly dangerous for the growth of science and development of the prestigious organizations in our country. My purpose of this communication is neither embarrassing nor punishment to anybody in the 3 tier committee, but to identify the mistakes\bias in the process of assessment/evaluation of the credentials of the awardees, if any, and rectification of mistakes\bias in the process by the Accepting authority/Competent authority. Moreover, for more reliable future evaluations of credentials of the awardees, there is a need to evolve detailed criteria for evaluation of different attributes of the National Geoscience Awardee. Otherwise, such type of human errors will continue to remain in future also in the assessment /evaluation of the credentials of the awardees and will depend on the 3-tier committee members /Officers holding responsible positions, should be independent and impartial in the discharge of their official duties. Moreover, for more reliable future evaluations of National Geoscience awards, there is a need to evolve detailed marking scheme for evaluation of different attributes of awardee, such as citations, publications, h-index, etc for observing transparency and objectivity. The facts stated below are in public domain based on material evidences and can not be suppressed /or manipulated.
