I am trying to estimate GMNL model using NLogit-5. The independent variables include some categorical variables. If I fix Gamma=1, the output still gives certain value of Gamma (not 1). However, when I remove categorical variables from ;Fcn, i.e. parameters associated with the categorical variables are taken as non-random, the model works fine and it is able to fix the Gamma=1. Why it is happening?
