The progression curve of people infected and dead by Covid 19 goes upward in certain countries like Italy, France, the USA ..... (1 case confirms today and 10000 cases in a month / 100 deaths ) While in other developing countries such as certain African and Caribbean countries the progression is different.

One of the most important factors to control the disease is strict Quarantine and other safety msasures. Need to check about implementation of safety measures in affected areas.
Severity of the spread of COVID infection and its mortality rate depends on the personal hygiene and following preventive measures of a society. The exact reason is not known but these countries are malaria belt, where chloroquine and other anti malarial drugs are commonly used, may be this offer some form of immunity. i think this is an issue that we can only largely speculate about? We are a population heavily burdened by viral and parasitic diseases especially Malaria.
We need to understand the -virulence of the present Sars-CoV 2. Is it the same allover the World?
Could different viral and parasitic infections play an immunologic role against the virus?
For now i think there are more asymptomatic patients of COVID-19 than symptomatic ones--Africa's testing levels are really very low.

It can be even lower in developing countries when antibody tests for COVID-19 would be done.

People in developing countries are exposed to flu viruses more frequently as compared to developed nations. May be the immune system of people living in developing countries are more trained to handle flu and similar viral diseases. 'cytokines storming' may be less likely. May be there already exists protective antibodies generated against other similar flu viruses which is helping to overcome complications due to SARS-COVID-2 virus.
So many factors actually. No test and no case then no death, it might be the first factor.
