Why Meissner signal suppressed significantly of an S/F bilayer?

The Meissner signal with in-plane applied field when magnetisation is also aligned in-plane of a superconductor/ferromagnetic layer is suppression an order than that of a single layer superconductor. What can be the reason other than inverse proximity effect at S/F interface?
