I am trying to create a spherical cavity with soft-sphere potential in LAMMPS. However it seems that this cannot be done. There are other options like lj9-3, lj12-6, harmonic etc.

The lj9-3 form given in LAMMPS documentation (http://lammps.sandia.gov/doc/fix_wall.html) is different form the usual form used in many earlier works (http://www.sklogwiki.org/SklogWiki/index.php/9-3_Lennard-Jones_potential and Article Dielectric Constant of Water Confined in a Nanocavity

for example)

The wall created using lj93 in lammps is mainly attractive as there is a (2/15) factor with the repulsive part, making it very small. Maybe this is derived for a cylindrical coordinate system.

Can someone help me understanding why different forms are there for lj93 and which one should be used?
