Why isn't there any method to prepare 5-nitro anthranilic acid by direct nitration of anthranilic acid?

I looked up the Reaxys database to find preparation methods for the 5-nitro anthranilic acid, and I found methods preparing it from 2-chloro-5-nitrobenzoic acid, 2-bromo-5-nitrobenzoic acid, but why not anthranilic acid? Can any one explain why?
