SnS has layered crystal structure. We have done repeated BET on SnS nanorods (400 x 50 nm) and found 250 m2/g surface area however no hysteresis. And also no observed desorption curve. Any explanation for this. Please help. Thanks.
If there is no hysteresis, you sample may not have mesopores. Can you show the isotherm?
If there is no desorption curve (1) your equipment cannot measure desorption or (2) you didn't program the equipment to measure desorption after adsorption.
What do you mean by no observed desorption curve? Hysteresis is due to the difference between adsorption curve and desorption curve. If you cannot get desorption curve, how can you say no hysteresis is found?
Will you be interested in doing neutron diffraction study on your SnS nanorods. Long time ago I studied SnS bulk samples. It would be interested to examine the effect f size reduction.
