there are many types of interneuron especially in dentate gyrus. On the other hand astrocyte and pre and postsynaptic neurons are also existence. I think there is a relationship between all of these cells in a synaptic cleft. So there are more than 4 participants (also other types of glia maybe contribute).
So I think we should use quadratic synapse.

I believe that these 3 items that you mentioned have been common in neuroscience since 2004 that for the first time Nadkarni proposed the idea of dressed neuron (Dressed Neurons : Modeling Neural-Glial Interactions) . But now I think that inter-neurons such as HIPP, HICAP ...cells also participate in this formation.
