In 1993, Lent et al. introduced one of the most promising and emerging computational paradigm known as Quantum-dot Cellular Automaton (QCA) computing. Now, it is almost 30 years have been passed, but we can not see any remarkable enhancement of this technology. What are the reasons behind this? What are the technological challenges?
I know no company has worked on QCA, but I don't know exactly why!

Hi Aparna Sathya Murthy, I think qubit and 2-D QCA is the different technology. Computation in qubit technology is different from the classical binary system. Whereas, QCA uses a traditional binary system.
Implementing a circuit with QCA requires special conditions, which I think could be one of the reasons @Seyed-Sajad Ahmadpour
The main reason is their inability to operate at room temperature. However, molecules are under research to realize them. In addition to that, no suitable validation and design tools are available for such technologies.
Jayalakshmi Rajmohan Thank you. I agree with you because I have the same finding. But I believe there are some other reasons because qubit also operates at extremely low temperatures.
