Can anyone tell me the main reasons that prevent the use of Naphtha as a fuel in SI engines?

Naphtha has very low octane quality (RON around 70 or less). SI engines cannot run on such low octane fuel because of knock.
Thank you Gautam. But I did a piece of research on using Naphtha in SI engine. I found that adding 7 vol.% of methanol to Naphtha enhances the engine performance and reducing emissions even better than using gasoline as fuel. Also, I measured the noise of the engine and I found that at this percentage the noise is lower than the noise generated when using Gasoline.

Cool bunch of folks that know solvents and keep them handy should also know about gasoline and kerosene and use them as solvents that grab everything.
also know about starting fluid. Don't matter none about upper cylinder lubricant. Sniff the stuff after you get the heptane. Kerosene produces less heat per gallon than #2 diesel.

Kerosene is a lighter diesel oil than D#2, hence why it is designated as #1 diesel. The lighter viscosity weight means dat it contains slightly less energy: 135,000 BTU per gallon vs. D#2 @ 139,000.
