Why is it important to have N. benthamiana as a positive control in elisa test?

Hello Everyone,

In order to evaluation of the extent of viral infection in transgenic and non-transgenic potato plants, we determined it by DAS-ELISA using polyclonal antibodies raised against the PVYO and PVA. Why is it important to use Nicotiana benthamiana (infected with virus) as a positive control and a model plant in addition to the Wild-type susceptible potato plants (infected with virus) in the ELISA test?
