I used to perform h2ax immunostaining in mcf7 and rko.
Now I see very high level of foci in control cell without any treatment. In addition drug treatment do not induce more foci anymore.
I have tested two different antibody and they gave the same results

In this case, i would firstly suggest a mycoplasma test; if negative, maybe consider stronger FcR blockage? or improve the cells culture condition?

Change cell fixing condiotion and antibıdy. We used one from milipore.
