ETS has launched their successful iSkills test about 10 years ago to assess digital information literacy. Now they have a short notice on their web site: Effective December 31, 2016, the iSkills Assessment is no longer available. Do you know, why they killed iSkills and which new instrument is going to replace it?
That is an interesting question indeed. Perhaps ETS felt the tests had become either outdated or invalid.
In my particular context, the only reason a person would take such an exam is whether the passing performance on the exam would lead to something tangible on a certification or license. There are many and interesting ETS exams that have little import on teaching credentials. I was an initial fan of the test as digital fluency and critical thinking seemed to have some cache in 2011, and was hoping that our tech courses could have this exam as a summative assessment (costs money), however, the states and accrediting bodies just didn't move in that direction in the US.
