Why does the word file with number line get much blank after printing or printing to pdf?

In my word file, I got this problem. When I add line numbers, printing of it or saving as a pdf file would get much blank, while when I remove the line numbers, the blank disappears. It seems that there is one rectangular mask on the words. However, the words could be copied and colored in the pdf format. What is the problem? Could anyone give me some clues for this?

I now know why this problem occurs. If I change the design style, the printing problem will be fixed. However, the changed style format should be a well-designed one saved by yourself, otherwise you won't satisfy with it.
