Hello, I performed one-step anodizing of titanium dioxide nanotubes
In the first synthesis with a solution, a yellow color was observed and after drying, the color of the sample was gray.
But in the synthesis of the next step in the same solution and under the same conditions, purple color was observed. what is the reason?
This must be directly related to the size of the resulting nanotubes as well as to the nature of mutual interaction (degree of aggregation etc.). Similar to nanogold, it is possible to see a broad gradation in the absorption spectra depending on the particle size distribution. In your case (drying) perhaps mainly an effect of distances betweeen the nanotubes take place.

I think it is simpy due to optical interference. depending on the lenght of the TiO2 film you have a different color. if you have a gradient of lengths you will see different colors in the film. if you clean the film you may remove some organic components and debris, hence the change in color upon cleaning.
