In an experiment, I used the UV/Vis spectroscopy to measure scattering of light spectrum from 300 to 900 nm passes through a cuvette contains Au NPs/Di water nanofluids, results showed that the scattering is slightly decreasing with the wavelength from 300 to around 500 nm which followed by an increase from 500 to 650 nm and then levelling off from 650 to 900 nm. But it is known that scattering is inversely proportional to the wavelength which contracts what happened in the region after 500 nm.
As wavelength increases it can penetrate more in depth of the tissue or biological sample.
Since in depth of the tissue there are more chromophores available, light- have the more probability to interact through scattering or diffusion reflection with these chromophore targets. as the sizes of these chromophores increases the scattering probability increases.
With knowing anything about the morphology of the NP its quite difficult to conclude anything concrete. You should see some plasmon effect, would withsome scattering phenomena (particularly for higher concentrations). I would also want want to know what is the distribution of the NP in the suspension.
