When platinum is used for patients with severe fractures, some may suffer in extremely cold or humid places.what is the cause of this pain ? and is there any substance to replace platinum?
Hi Elham, metals are more heat conductive than bone. And some metals usually do not elicit an immune response which makes them ideal for joint replacement.
That being said, are you talking about platinum or titanium? Platinum is very expensive.
I have studied mercury in bacteria, and have found that some bacterial membrane can bind Hg, but Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis can not (please see files; Resistance to Hg and Biochemical Oxidation Cyto C). Therefore, I now recognizes Solutio Mercurochromi is the most strong anti-bacterial drug without producing the drug-resistant bacteria.
Mercury seems not possible to go through Blood-Brain barrier/BBB in humans, but may be linked to pain via Enkephalin metabolism in cerebrospinal fluid (please see files; Enk serBIN and Dr. De Felice Meningitis). Human serum biotinidase, which is a major serum protein, can interact to various metals (please see file; Thiol-type BIN).
I think platinum seems to be similarly working as mercury via biotinidase to cause pain in humans.
By the way, dentist uses gold, silver, synthetic resin, titan, and ceramic. These materials, except silver, may not induce pain.
