In K -12 schools, parents have the RIGHT to know how their children are doing in school. So parent-teacher meetings are a practical thing for the school district to do.
But even more so, students perform best when their parents are engaged with their learning and encourage or require studying. So it is beneficial for parents to meet with teachers regularly.
