According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, by the end of the 21st century, average world temperatures are likely to be between 1.4°C and 5.8°C higher than they were in the year 1990. Steps should be taken to stabilize the concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system.
We all have a responsibility to do our bit towards saving our environment and recycling is one of the easiest and most effective ways of doing this.
WE should focus on green energy such as solar, wind energy etc. that can be extracted, generated and consumed without any negative impact on the environment.
We should create awareness about urgency of tree plantations for increasing green cover on earth.
What difference can I make? When faced with this question, individuals should recognize that collectively they can make a difference. In some cases, it only takes a little change in lifestyle and behavior to make some big changes in greenhouse gas reductions. For other types of actions, the changes are more significant. When that action is multiplied by the 7.7 billion people worldwide, the savings are significant. "Individuals Can Make A Difference", identifies actions that many households can take that reduce greenhouse gas emissions in addition to other benefits, including saving you money! The actions range from changes in the house, in the yard, in the car, and in the store. Everyone's contribution counts, so why not do our share?
Of course, individual actions can do much to reduce warming, but it is not so much about small gestures, such as reducing the use of private vehicles, reducing the use of plastics, carrying out a good recycling of household waste, etc. The problem is the consumer society on which the entire world economy is based. Maintaining the growth of the economy of the largest amount of countries in the world above 3% as an inalienable objective, implies the maintenance of a level of consumption well above basic needs, and, consequently, the perpetual maintenance of the agricultural and industrial production well above the levels of sustainability of the planet.
So to solve the problem, you do not need the sum of millions of individual gestures, which, on the other hand, could not be demanded of all societies equally, because not all are equally developed, such as A CHANGE OF GLOBAL MENTALITY. or if you want the acquisition of a global conscience, which leads to the change of the current economic model, based on the consumer society, on the other based on the minimum consumption that allows us to maintain an adequate standard of living.
It is necessary to do this, for example: eliminate from the industry the practice of manufacturing with Programmed Obsolescence, (that the products last a person's whole life). It is necessary that the basic industries (production and distribution of energy, pharmaceutical production and distribution, use and distribution of water, etc.) are in public hands. In short, something unthinkable in the short term. Maybe in a parallel universe!
I think following five steps at individual level can help to fight global warming.
- By planting and protecting trees
- By using public transport instead of a private vehicle
- By consuming less electricity
- By avoiding products with lot of packaging; and
- By eating of less meat
As per my opinion individual level can reduce global warming by planting the trees, use non conventional energy and reduce environmental polution etc.
At individual level, if we change some habits and activities, we can contribute to overcome on global warming.
1. Eating habits. Make vegetable part of our food.
2. Avoid wastage of food
3. Avoid/minimise burning of solid waste
4. Use less fuel
5. Decrease dependency on forest resources.
6. Grow more trees
7. Encourage the use of solar energy
8. Avoid or minimise processed food.
9. Encourage the culture of reuse
10. Encourage the use of recycled products

We are really lost in material world as we live in the jail of always searching for comfort and pleasures. They lead to laziness and stress. We need to buy less and eat less to have a more spiritual and quite life to feed our soul.
I think we should plant more trees with the best care and attend all planted tress as the worshipping the God.
The solution to the problem is not in the palliative actions, but in addressing the causes that generate it, and those causes have much to do with the economic and social model based on a consumption of resources well above the needs. No sick person heals with palliative care. Either the root of the problem is attacked or the patient dies.

Scientists and civil society need to consolidate further to address the main sources of the problem (industry and economy). However, this will have no effect if our purely consumer-oriented lifestyle do not change.
In other words, as much as we are unable to change our "harmful" habits towards our planet, we are compromising the future of our specie on earth.
I agree that we must change the harmful habits, but we must bear in mind that our habits have been in some way "inserted" (in fact they are inserted continuously through advertising), in society by the economic system, that he needs them so that we continue consuming. They have made us believe in the false idea that consumption and well-being are closely linked. But the reality is that without consumption there is no growth and without growth the system collapses. We can do little individually because we are continuously bombarded by "invitations" to consumption (change your car, change your wardrobe, change your mobile, change your house, ...). That is why I believe that the solution goes through the change of system and that is not visible in the short or medium term.

I am a big believer in “systems approach“. Individual steps can only be possible through system level policies resulting in broader changes in infrastructure. For example green spaces and their preservation is not possible without systems and policies supporting it. Dissertation is a result of system level decisions. So ecological perspective will help devise solutions which individuals can then support.
Applying the "systems dynamics" it is possible to model an action at a group level that relies on individual actions. But the problem is much more complex than modeling a theoretical solution. There are variables that affect the individual conscience (ambition, selfishness, egocentrism, ..) and others of a geopolitical nature that affect the community (the States) that seem very difficult to control.
Reduce the use of nuclear energy. And reduce nuclear weapons.
I heat my house with wood pellets in the winter and get hot water (shower etc.) from a solar heater the other 8 months of the year. Wood pellets is made from saw dust that stem from e.g producing furniture. I made the system as I bought my house 14 years ago and the investment pay back time has been about 2 years. Fuel oil is expensive!
I invested in shares in commercial wind mill parks which production capacity exceeds my household electricity consumption.
Windmills and solar heaters are simple constructions that can be split up to 2-3 metal fractions than can be reused. There is a technical standard for this that is used in the design proces for Danish energy products. Contrary to this coal power plants are largely made from composite metals and large amounts of concrete that is impossible to reuse. Can we put the rubble in Kenneths lawn? Additionally a coal power plant leaves very contaminated land as it is finally dismantled. Nuclear power plants obviously trumps coal power plants by a large margin.

As an indiviual, I must minmize waste as much as possible
No of steps are thier for fighting global warming like reduce the use of different natural resources,changing the food, changing the source of energy and eliminating the use of harmful materials.
Steps needed to protect environment properties like maintaining composition of air, maintaining water minerals,protect driking water from harmful chemicals. Protect the forests,river and sea from misbehavior of human beings.

If you drastically reduce the use of fossil fuel it is the largest of all the steps needed.

The options to reduce individual environmental impacts are manyfold. Saving energy in the household, buying less, eating more veggies by reducing meat consumption. Buying products that were produced locally (to avoid packing and long transportes). Spending holidays at home or closer to home instead of taking an airplane or long car drives. Sharing goods and transport. Driving bycycle, walking or taking public transport instead of taking a car. Avoiding use of fossil fuels whenever possibe. Buying items that last long and avoiding single-use-packages. Bying fresh goods instead of packed goods. Buying a smaller refrigerator. If you need a car buy one that uses less fuel.

To reduce the effects of global warming on the planet, it is necessary to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases, which are the main cause of this phenomenon, and that all solutions that contribute to reducing it intersect with the well-being and stability of human life, such as non-use of air conditioners,... can man accept those solutions ... and others.

Simply saying, the solution passes through reducing the consumption of energy by using fossel fuel, increasing the area of geen land (Trees) and reusing of energy from wastewater and solid wastes.
And we have to prsuade all countries to develope infrastrucures of clean energy . For example wind, solar, etc.
Dear All, Global Warming is the result of the consumer lifestyle we are used to. May I ask you and myself whether we can give up the way of life we live in order to protect our planet? It is easy to make general judgments and global directives, but can we really take those individual "small" steps ...? Cheers.
If we leave the change of lifestyle in the hands of individual citizens, this will never happen. Have we reached this way of life, this ultraliberal humanism thanks to the individual action of citizens? The current system was imposed on the entire planet since the 70s by the combined action of banks, stock speculators, large companies and governments, controlled by the previous actors, of a few Western nations. Changing that will require the combined action of large groups of citizens and concerned governments. This system only benefits a small part of the world population that enjoys a very high level of life thanks to the exploitation, sacrifice, sweat and effort of the rest of the population. Its control is exercised at all levels, and do not hesitate to cause wars if necessary to maintain it. Changing your lifestyle is a frontal attack on your interests. They do not care about climate change in absolute terms. On the contrary, they are already preparing the exploitation of the Arctic. So any attempt by minority, or even majority, social groups to change things is answered, through their puppet governments, with laws that restrict civil rights and imprison those responsible.
