When I try to run AMOS I see a warning "the variable bla bla is represented by a rectangle in the path diagram but it is not an observed variable" In fact it is an observed variable
It sounds like the observed variable in the model might not have a variable in the dataset associated with it. Did you check for that?
I have a similar problem. My model was drawn automatically using pattern matrix and when i tried calculating the estimates the error shows up. When the delete the variable in question, it shows that another variable is not an observed variable.
The error is due to the duplication of item(s) heading. It is a duplication error. AMOS require all column headings to be unique
The problem is with the data column heading and the naming you have at AMOS canvas. If they are matching or not unique, this error is shown
