I'm researching transmittance of OMO structure.
(*OMO is Oxide/Metal/Oxide sandwich structure)
I know there is one peak in transmittance spectrum when the thickness of top oxide and bottom oxide is same.
But in my result, peak separation has occurred.
So, I thought 2 reasons about my result.
1. Because sapphire substrate is under the bottom oxide and there is Ag layer under the top oxide, this condition can change n value(refractive index) of oxide.
2.The thickness of bottom oxide is different from that of top oxide.
Is there any other reason for peak separation that I has overlooked?
Try to do a deconvolution of a single peak into two Gaussian ([email protected])
Did you try running spectra on individual materials first? Doing so should help to see individual contributions from your materials. Then, obtaining the spectra of two layers and finally of three. With tree layers it would be helpful to fix the thickness of one layer and vary the the thickness of the other. This should help to see what is going on.
The dip that you see in the transmittance spectra should correspond to the plasma resonance frequency of silver, where the real part of the permittivity epsilon for silver crosses zero (I think...)

Andrei Burnin Yes, I got the single oxide layer transmittance and compared it with simulation data. And I found that the difference occurred at the same wavelength which peak separation has happened. So, I'm trying to find the reason about that. Thanks for your comment anyway!
Daniel Poitras Thanks for your opinion! But, I didn't get resonance frequency of silver from other OMO samples :(
