Why do we use log transformations for estimating multipliers?

Hello Dears,

I want to figure out why we use log transformations for estimating fiscal multipliers? Do we need to multiple by 100 to change it in percentage form?

for instance,

ln_gdp=100*log(GDP)

ln_spending=100*log(spending)
