Greetings!

I have seen many research article stated that OSA-starch modification without the treatment of isopropanol however, some of the research articles recommended diluting the OSA with isopropanol before the starch modification. I would like to know, why they are diluting the OSA in isopropanol? How it's important for starch modification? If we don't dilute with isopropanol, what kind of issue will come after the modification? I kindly request you, if someone experienced in the research area, please help me.
