Why since the 4th quarter of 2018 the number of Facebook users has been falling and to what other social media portals existing Facebook users and new internet users are going through?
Reportedly, the affair with Cambridge Analytics and imperfect algorithms for filtering messages and posts published by Friends and displayed for individual Facebook users is not working properly and they are one of the main reasons for the decline in Facebook users since the end of 2018.
Do you agree with my opinion on this matter?
In view of the above, I am asking you the following question:
Why do the number of Facebook users go down and what other social media portals are going through?

Personally I find that an increasing number of advertisements in FB is very annoying. I think they should work on their filter system, otherwise they will keep loosing their users.
I think one of the reasons is "FB is intruding into our privacy".. Watever shopping sites I browse online, I rcv advertisements from them on my FB page.. I feel as if Im being tracked..

According to an article published in Forbes (see link below), the numbers of monthly active Facebook users worldwide are rising significantly. In 2016 (1788 in millions), 2017 (2072 in millions) and in 2018 (2271 in millions). in fact as per the article, "The growth of active Facebook users worldwide is exponential--in the third quarter of 2018, the number of users has increased 22 times compared to the third quarter of 2008." I attach a copy of the article, that highlight an increase in men as active users. I thought to look again beyond the end of 2018, to see if there is an actual decline effect. I found an article published at the end of January 2019 in the BBC (business section)- see the link below. The report titled, "Facebook users continue to grow despite privacy scandals", indicate that there are no declines, but progressive rise despite the issues raised last year (2018). The article suggests that the numbers of people who logged into its site at least once a month jumped 9% last year to 2.32 billion people.
