I have performed isothermal DSC measurement and heating measurements with a rate of 50 K/min for a 100 gm steel ( temperature range is from 200-600 DegC. The steel is in as-quenched condition and the measurements are suppose to simulate steel tempering. I can not see any peaks for both cases. However, from the dilatometer experiments, i know that there are reactions during the tempering.

I am using pt crucibles with Al2O3 liner. The base lines are quite stable.

what i can think of is may be the heating rate is too fast or the energies of the reaction are too small to be detected.

I would be very happy to hear some suggestions or your view about this particular problem.

Thankyou
