I am conducting multiple case studies using Social Network Analysis. I am using UCINET 6 and the Girvan Newman Analysis.

In one of my Concept Maps using the software, I have a large data set (399 nodes). Using the UCINET 6 and the Girvan Newman Function in Netdraw I have 3 single-node clusters in a map that consists of 24 clusters. The single-node clusters appear in all of the maps where the Girvan Newman q-score is at or near the optimum (highest number).

I have checked the coding on the data input sheet and it is correct.

Is it logical to have a single node cluster in my data?

Are there any references that I can look to give support for my outcome?
