I'm attempting to simulate progressive damage behavior in composite materials with a cohesive surface between two unidirectional plies with the same material orientation.
This is being done in order to validate the model prior to advancing into more complex analyses. Therefore, the expected results were to be the same as previous analyses, comprised of a single ply. In the latter, the inclusion of mass scaling up to 1,000,000 didn't result in increased reaction forces, but this happened in the former (with cohesive surfaces).
I'd greatly appreciate any insight or suggestions.
