I have set everything up according to the guide provided by Molecular devices, and according to them, if the lab bench and the telegraphed instruments are set properly, clampex should automatically know when I switch between voltage and current clamp recording mode. I am not sure why but in my voltage and current clamp recording protocols, all primary and secondary inputs (Im_prime and Vm_sec for voltage clamp, Vm_prime and Im_sec for current clamp) are set at pA unit always. Does not matter if I change mode between current clamp and voltage clamp in Multiclamp 700b commander. I am sure it is a naive mistake, but can anyone help?
Instruments: Digidata 1440a, Multiclamp 700b.

You may first make sure all wires are connected properly (between the headstage of electrode holder, digitizer and amplifier) and these match the telegraphed instrument settings, and that you are recording from the electrode input.
Then, go to Configure - Digitizer and make sure it is Digidata 1440a that is selected, if not press change and select it (you may need to do this every time you use clampix).
Try with a DEMO cell if you have one - start with the membrane test and check if it works then try recording in voltage and current clamp.

Go to Lab Bench and adequatedly configure the units of measurement in the Current Clamp channel.

I also noticed that sometimes when I go from V-Clamp to I-Clamp mode, the settings are indicating pA instead of mV, so the remedy to that is to reset the MultiClamp 700B Commander (Fifth button from left near Select Drive button)
Thank you all for help. I realized that pclamp has driver issues with windows 10 and it was not communicating with the amplifier properly. Needed a new setup which I had to call the company and get via email. I appreciate all the help.
Also sometimes using a language different to english generates problems in some pClamp versions.
