Reda - different academic media sites use different metrics for citation. Some are more generous than others (GoogleScholar is one of the more generous) depending on what sources they include as citable. For instance, GoogleScholar will include book chapters, reports - and citation from journals that have no impact factor etc - whereas say Scopus does not. Check your six 'missing' citations. What type of sources are they from i.e. established journals or not.
Citations differ from one database to another. The citations in a database depends solely based on the articles available in that database. Usually, Google Scholar provides highest citations among all databases. It can pick up citations from dissertations which are kept in a repository website while other databases can't. It can access any article or poster or news or any document whether indexed or non indexed from any corner of the internet and add as citation if an article is cited. It can also add citations from journals which are not published in English if available in internet.
Thanks Dean Whitehead and Isaac Dinaharan very useful. I was quite happy about the Google citations and hoped they would be picked up by RG. I tried to help by finding the missing citations and sending the link to RG, but no response yet.
Hi Reda, like Isaac did mention, Google Scholar can pick citations from almost everywhere on the internet whereas RG only picks them up from papers deposited in their database. If you check you probably will find that those citations of yours that did not reflect in RG were from papers that have yet to be uploaded in RG.
That is why it is unfair, as I put it in the question. The citations should be valued for their scholarly merit and publisher's credibility as indeed evident in the missing citations. Please follow the link provided under the question to judge for yourselves.
