When I was a student, my academic advisor taught me to collect MOFs by decantation instead of suction filtration.
Why is the crystal structure of MOF broken by suction filtration? Is the coordination bond so weak? Also, I would appreciate it if you could tell me the literature.

Dear Takeshi Shimizu I'm not an expert in the field of MOFs, but I think the stability of MOFs can be very different depending on their structure, and not all MOFs break upon suctions filtration. Moreover, there are ten thousands of different MOFs known in the chemical literature. Please consider that the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Center alone lists 60,000+ structurally characterized MOFs. Please see this link entitled "How many MOFs are there in the CSD?"
